From India to the US at age 17 alone;
College dropout to serial
entrepreneur...
An American Journey:
The son of Indian immigrants - Anuroop's family had to move back to India when he was 10 due to his father's health issues.
The next 7 years spent in India were humbling and eye-opening. A lifestyle that put him in the local communities; he witnessed first-hand what privileges were enjoyed by the West and how resources could be utilized to create impact.
At age 17, he made his way back to the US alone. By age 22, he had put himself through high school, earned a full scholarship to the University of Arizona, represented AZ in a national leadership conference for "Top 50 Future Healthchare Professionals" , led a social entrepreneurship project which won Top 16 in the nation.
However, with 1.5 years left to graduate - his family had been struggling with health & finances. To support them, he had his family move in with him and dropped out to find a way to support & pay the bills as the primary breadwinner.
A blessing came in the form of a local startup which was impressed by his volunteer + organizing work on campus for startup initiatives & his leadership of a social entrepreneurship project.
Starting off as a part-time marketing assistant, he quickly worked his way up to Head of Business Development & Growth. While growing the company's online sales be 12x in 1 year.
This success got him a gig with Facebook (now Meta) in their ads department. After 3 years, he saw there was a gap in serving BIPOC founders - those who came from unconventional backgrounds like himself - and he set off to co-found his growth marketing firm.
Today. his growth marketing firm - Inflect Digital - is the leading culture-focused digital ads firm in the nation and works with some of the leading BIPOC founders in the country.
He has also co-founded PHX NFT & his working on transforming the future of work with his next venture.
Anuroop has been recognized by Forbes and is a member of For(bes) the Culture, Official Black Wall Street, and "Magnetic Stories" by Australian bestselling author Gabrielle Dolan.
